I've also bought World of Zoo for my daugther and there you're free to do whatever you want with your animals, that game has so many options that it makes you feel like you're right there playing with the animals or just watching them chasing each other. One more area that I think this game lacks quite a bit is the freedom to play and interact with your dog. I wonder if those games have been really tested by anybody, but I highly doubt it. Even if you fall behind for some reason, you'll easily outrun the other dogs in seconds. On the other hand, the dog races are so ridiculously easy, it takes almost zero effort to win them. There's a 60 seconds time limit for each round and the targets start to pop-up, disappear and move around the screen so fast, you can complete this either by sheer luck or having non-human reflexes.
The games are extremely unbalanced - the play ball game (where you throw balls for your dog to catch by hitting targets) is IMPOSSIBLE to complete already on the medium level. When you sum it up, finishing all 8-9 races takes you over 20 minutes - 6 minutes playing and 15 minutes waiting. Each type (level) of races has 8-9 individual races and you have to wait 30 secs after you finish the race and 80 secs before you launch another one - each race takes about 40-50 secs. As a matter of a fact, my daughter sometimes runs away from the room, because she just gets tired of all this waiting. I'm actually surprised nobody else has mentioned that yet, as this is really incredibly annoying. But when you select a race, that's where you'll experience the record-breaking time - it takes 80 seconds (yes, that's not a typo) to load each race. There are loading screens pretty much between most of what you can click on and they mostly take around 30 seconds, which is simply ridiculous.
INSANE, I mean truly INSANE loading times - I guess I've never experienced anything close to this. There are 2 MAJOR problems with this title:ġ.
But that's where the positives end, at least from my point of view.
That's what my little daughter likes the most in fact, there's enough variations of all the playful tricks and moves the dogs do and she enjoys watching them over and over again. This game basically delivers what you'd expect, I believe the animations of the dogs itself are enough to keep little kids attracted.
